Spring Wedding Outdoor Venues in the Treasure Valley / Boise Area

Well spring time is here and you know what that means Brides all around the treasure valley are planning their weddings.  During the spring / summer time we do a lot of outdoor venue locations and this article is going to address most of them.  Idaho is gorgeous for outdoor venues.  Before I go into the different venues here in Idaho I want to address time of day.  Certain venues are very well shaded and some are out in the open.  The out in the open venues you want to make sure that you set your times for the wedding late afternoon or early evening.  For example we shot one outdoor venue out in the open and as the procession was coming across the bridge and down the aisle they would stop and turn for a photo.  This is how it was rehearsed, unfortunately the sun was glaring down right on everyone and the wedding planner did not want to make any changes so we just went with it.  Pictures came out ok but not excellent.  Now we could have brought out the reflectors to manage to sun but in a wedding environment we try not to use them because we as photographers try to make ourselves invisible. Everyone should be focused on the bride and not on the assistant with the giant white reflector.  So time is crucial. You should try to visit your venue about the same time you plan on getting married. It would be wise to look online and see what time the sun will set on the day of your wedding since daylight savings time and time of year will cause the sunset time to vary. If you are in a well shaded venue then this really doesn’t apply.  We will discuss these in the upcoming locations.
