Crane Studio Imaging will be entering a scarecrow at the Idaho Botanical Gardens this year for the 2nd Annual Scarecrow Stroll. We have come up with a wonderful idea for our scarecrow and have already finished its design and build. We will be posting a picture of it on here once the contest starts. So come out to the Idaho Botanical Gardens and see all the scarecrows from September 26th 2009 to October 31st 2009. Judging of the scarecrows will happen on October 3rd 2009 during their OktoberFest from 12pm to 6pm. They will have a lot of vendors out there serving food and beverages.

I was on the Canon website checking out all the cool thing my new 5D Mark II could do and ran across a video by Vincent Laforet. It’s Called Reverie and was shot with a pre-production Canon EOS 5D MarkII digital SLR. The files used to create the video were not manipulated only compressed. It’s sweet video check it out (more…)

On 08/22/2009 I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Ben & Sarah at their home in Nampa Idaho. Gorgeous wedding on a hot August day. I would like to congratulate the happy couple and wish you many wonderful years together.

I went down to the Idaho fair to check to see if any of my pictures won any awards. My gorilla photo taken when I was down in Florida got an honorable mention. There are so many great photos down there I would suggest anyone who is going to the fair to go down to the North Expo building in the back and check out the pictures.

After seeing a very interesting article on the Idahostatesman website about the ghost town of Bayhorse near Challis, Idaho I had to take a trip up there and get some pictures. They completely redid the entire park area, it looked very nice and they have gravel paths and informational boards at each building. It was like stepping into the past. The picture on this page is the Old Bayhorse Mill, it was amazing to see. The park ranger that lives on the site was very nice and gave us so much information. It costs $4.00 for a day use pass, well worth it in my opinion. The park is open...

On 08/09/2009 I did a family photo shoot at one of my favorite locations down by the Boise River in Eagle. I love this location, it is so nice and green. You can really get right down to the river in this location. The greenbelt goes through this area too so you go for a nice walk. This area makes for some great pictures.

Canon just released on 7/31/09 new firmware for the EOS 50D Firmware Update Version 1.0.7.
It fixes the following
Corrects a phenomenon where captured images may tend to appear somewhat magenta depending on the shooting scene.
Fixes incorrect indications on the Arabic, Romanian, Spanish, and Ukrainian menu screens.
I have actually seen the issue that the number one fixes. I have only seen its once though.
You can download the firmware here. Canon 50D firmware 1.0.7

Over the weekend I shot a Family Reunion in Catalpa Park in Boise Idaho. Everyone was having lot of fun, which included quite a few water fights because it was so hot. I got lot of nice pictures of 5 generations of this family.
